🚢 Shipping Policy

At BYND Cars, we provide vehicle import consulting and facilitation services for clients in Costa Rica who wish to purchase vehicles from the United States through our licensed dealer access. Our shipping policy outlines the process, timeline, and conditions involved in the international shipping and delivery of your selected vehicle.

 

1. Shipping Services

We coordinate all logistics on your behalf with our trusted shipping and customs partners, including:

  • Pickup of the vehicle within the U.S. (from dealership or auction site)

  • Storage in our secured partner warehouse in Hialeah, Miami

  • Ocean freight to Caldera or Limón, Costa Rica

  • Inland transport to San José (Almacén Fiscal)

  • Final documentation and vehicle registration under your name or company

 

2. Estimated Shipping Timeframe

  • U.S. Pickup to Port Departure: 5–7 business days

  • Ocean Transit to Costa Rica: 7–14 days (depending on port schedules)

  • Customs Clearance & Local Delivery: 5–10 business days

Total estimated time from U.S. pickup to availability in San José:
Approximately 3 to 5 weeks

 

3. Vehicle Delivery Location

Vehicles are delivered to:
Almacén Fiscal Caeromar, San José
Clients may inspect or retrieve their vehicle there once customs and documentation are complete.

Upon request, BYND Cars can coordinate direct delivery to the client’s address at an additional cost (quoted separately).

 

4. Shipping Limitations

  • We do not import salvage or damaged vehicles, as these may be rejected by Costa Rican customs.

  • BYND Cars does not physically own the vehicles and does not operate as a traditional dealer; we act as your official sourcing and import representative.

  • Shipping timelines may vary due to customs delays, ocean freight scheduling, or external force majeure events.

 

5. Shipping Insurance

All vehicles are covered during international transit and inland transport by our logistics partners. Clients may request additional third-party insurance coverage for extended protection.

 

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide correct personal/legal information for customs & registration

  • Make full payment prior to vehicle shipment

  • Be available for signature or representation when required by customs
